Helena Brophy is a born-and-raised New Yorker who now works as an illustrator, animator, and comic artist based in Chicago, Illinois.
Taking inspiration from Chicago’s abundantly queer community, Helena most frequently works in bright colors and bold strokes. Her art is informed by her beloved practice of seeking out the wacky, weird, and whimsical in everyday life, with her most common subject matters being drawn from her favorite things: girls, sex, food, and dogs (ranked in no particular order). As a recent graduate of Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Animation and a minor in Illustration, Helena is more than excited to take on the art world with as much vigor and enthusiasm as a one person could possibly muster.
